NEW DELHI: With the heat touching peak temperatures at this time of the year, it is understood that most of us are out hunting for air conditioners. Choosing an AC is a tricky game as most of the general users are not sure which one to buy and what capacity to go for depending on their room size. While there are several parameters to take care of, one of the most important is whether to buy a regular AC or an AC with an inverter.
So here is a simple explanation before you jump to any conclusion.
If you ask us, we would suggest you buy an AC with an inverter. We recommend this because fixed-speed ACs have high power consumption as its motor restarts more frequently in order to maintain the temperature instructed by the user. In regular ACs, the compressor either runs at its peak speed or is switched off, a process that gobbles up a lot of power. On the other hand, inverter ACs’ power consumption is relatively less as the motor is always at a constant speed. Since it uses less power, the electricity bills are also less. So, if electricity bills are one of your key concerns then go for an inverter-equipped AC.
Inverter-equipped ACs are also claimed to deliver better performance and longer life.
Another nifty yet important plus point with inverter ACs is that since the motor is running constantly and is not being switched on or off all the time, it makes less noise.
Some of the other factors you can keep a check on while choosing an air conditioner is the direction of the airflow, types and numbers of air filters, BEE star ratings, capacity based on room size, window or split AC and some extra features like Wi-Fi support and more.
