NEW DELHI: It seems that Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is on a product launching spree. The company launched two smartphones and a TV last month and introduced another series of television yesterday (March 7).
During the launch video of the newly launched Xiaomi Mi TV 4A, the company has teased another smartphone, which is expected to launch on March 14. In the product video of 7 minutes and 38 seconds, the company has teased the side image of a smartphone.
The image teased shows the camera bump and the two antenna lines. Looking at the image, it is expected that the company might launch the Redmi 5 . The smartphone is the successor of the last year launched Redmi 4 and it was launched in China last year.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 1440×720 pixel resolution and is powered by 1.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor.
The smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat operating system topped with MIUI 9 and offers 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage. The users can further expand the storage up to 128GB by adding a microSD card. The device comes with hybrid dual SIM functionality and comes equipped with a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5 sports a 12MP rear shooter with LED flash and a 5MP front camera also with LED flash for selfies. Measuring 151.8 × 72.8 × 7.7mm, the smartphone is backed by a 3,300 mAh battery and offers 4G, VoLTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS as connectivity options.
