OnePlus Watch has been doing rounds on the web quite regularly, and now the device has reportedly received certification from Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS). It was recently spotted on Indonesia’s Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) certification site, and now it has apparently been certified by BIS, indicating its arrival in India.
Alongside the OnePlus Watch, OnePlus Powerbank was also reportedly spotted receiving the certification in the country, but the listing does not reveal any details about the two devices. It only confirms that the company is working on its first-ever smartwatch and a power bank.
Tipster Mukul Sharma took to Twitter to share the screenshot of the BIS certification page. The tweet reads, “OnePlus Watch receives the BIS certification in India, launch date might not be too far from now.”
We don’t know when the watch will be unveiled for everyone and what exactly will it bring to the table, but rumours suggest that the watch may feature a circular design instead of the square one and get inspiration from Vivo’s smartwatch, which is scheduled to hit the market on September 22 in China.
It is also expected to borrow some features from its sister brand Oppo’s smartwatch that retails at a starting price of Rs 14,990 in India.
As far as its launch date is concerned, OnePlus may reveal the watch sometime around October or November this year alongside its OnePlus 8T series.
